The Thai Rubber Association (TRA) has been established for 71 years. Presently, TRA has 39 companies as members. TRA’s administration is based on the principles of transparency and good governance, aiming to protect and strive for the interests of its members and the rubber trade sector as a whole. TRA plays a significant role in cooperating with public agencies, private agencies, smallholders, and international rubber organizations. Another important role of TRA is to serve and inform members about rubber, business knowledge, and modern techniques. The Association obtains information from various sources and disseminates it to its members in the form of the monthly journal, e-mail, the TRA website (www.thainr.com), Line, and Facebook based on 3 objectives as follows: 1) to be widely known both domestically and internationally; 2) to corporate with government agencies, smallholder groups, and the private sector both at the local and international level; and 3) to distribute current information and news to rubber-related parties, including the government sector, the private sector, smallholders, and everyone else interested in rubber.
For over 40 years, the Thai Rubber Association (TRA) has continuously improved communication channels, including a monthly journal and the TRA website. The Association has continually improved and developed both the monthly journal and the website in terms of contents and forms based on beauty and convenience for users to visit and search for information. Furthermore, the Association has created another level of reliability and security for the website by using the HTTP protocol, which uses the SSL/TLS protocol for encryption and secure authentication of the HTTP protocol, the basis used when communicating on the Internet (HTTPS or Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure) to service members and interested parties. Currently, the Association has cooperated with partners in the rubber industry, whether government agencies, the private sector, or educational institutions, to build a mechanism to connect from one system to another to allow external software to access and update the information (Application Programing Interface: API) to transfer information to display on coordinated websites. In addition, due to the COVID-19 pandemic since the end of 2019, face-to-face meetings and seminars cannot be held. Therefore, the TRA committee decided to set up the system for the online conference (VDO conference) to prepare for TRA operations to reach the highest efficiency and to respond to the New Normal society.
The Thai Rubber Association (TRA) is always concerned about the importance of improving all communication channels, whether the monthly journal, website, Line, Facebook, or the VDO conference system, to maximize benefits and satisfaction for both members and interested parties. All opinions and suggestions are welcomed so that we can improve our service to be in line with your requirements. Please take your valuable time to send your comments and suggestions to tra@thairubber.org or fax: 074-429312.
